Well here's something that was new to me. Just when I thought I'd heard everything ....
Turns out the CIA, worried that it was going to get behind-the-times as far as technology goes, decided that the best way to stay on the avant-garde of high-tech would be to do what the financial guys do:
Start a venture capital firm and start financing the technology! Get in bed with the enterpreneurs!
So that's exactly what they did.
So if you're a high-tech start-up, and you need some operating capital, some investors ... you can now go directly to this arm of the CIA and ask them for help!
I'm sure a knowledge of Faust is not a requirement for funding.
